Straight teeth without braces Highlands Ranch Dentist
What questions should you ask?

A common question asked by our patients to our Highlands Ranch dentist is “I want straight teeth but I don’t want braces… can you help?”
The quick and simple  answer is yes and there are two basic strategies involved. One involves moving your teeth with clear aligners (Invisalign) and the other with dental veneers. An Invisalign aligner is a clear plastic stint that fits over your teeth and is difficult to detect from a distance.
Objections of traditional orthodontics
It appears from our consultation with patients is they object to the metal banding, brackets and wires from traditional orthodontics. Our Highlands Ranch dentists Dr. H. Candace DeLapp and Dr. James DeLapp offer a variety of dental services to their patients living in Denver, Parker, Castle Pines, Ken Caryl, Greenwood Village, Centennial and Lone Tree Colorado.
Nearly “invisible” Orthodontics… Invisalign

Invisalign is a series of nearly invisible orthodontic retainers (aligners) designed to move your teeth in 0.25 mm or less. In order to assist in tooth movements  our Highlands Ranch Invisalign dentist bonds tooth colored composite “bumps” (attatchments) on your teeth.
Can Invisalign produce complex tooth movement?
No… not really.  Invisalign works well with simple tooth movements. Unfortunately, severely crowded teeth may indeed be best treated by traditional orthodontics. The aligners are worn for approximately two weeks at a time. Total aligners can number as few as 10 to 30 or more and depends upon the complexity of your case. Your case may or may not be amenable to Invisalign treatment.

Dental Veneers Highlands Ranch Colorado

Porcelain dental veneers as been incorrectly refereed to as instant orthodontics. It is not orthodontics at all but teeth are reshaped and veneers placed over the modified tooth structure. Once again this techniques work well with many but not all malocclusion’s. Significant tooth mal-position is best handled by traditional orthodontics.
Are  you a candidate for dental veneers?
Typically our Highlands Ranch dentist would like to first see if your case can be handled by a diagnostic wax up. This allows us to evaluate your case three dimensionally to see how it will progress.
