Highlands Ranch Dentist Dr. James DeLapp
Dr. James DeLapp is a Highlands Ranch dentist with a particular interest in cosmetic and esthetic dentistry, Dr. DeLapp has been practicing the Denver areas for more that 27 years.

In 1995 he earned a Masters in Basic Science (MBs) degree in Exercise Science from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. His research and studies were conducted at the Olympic Training Center and the International Center for Aquatic Research (ICAR). His studies were primarily concerned with the physiology and biomechanics of world-class swimmers. His part-time hobbies focus on swimming, primarily as a coach, official, and researcher. Currently Dr. DeLapp is a swim official swim coach and one of his swimmers was an Olympic Trials Finalist. He also is General Chairman of Colorado Swimming which involves some 10,000 swimmers and over 100 swim teams.
Dr. DeLapp enjoys giving back to the community as a volunteer in both dentistry and in areas outside of dentistry. His volunteer hours number in the hundreds per year. His interests and hobbies are varied and emphasize athletics.

Dr. H. Candace DeLapp a Highlands Ranch Dentist is also a well-respected and experienced practitioner with a special interest in cosmetic dentistry. She has been practicing in Centennial and Highlands Ranch for 17 years. Dr. DeLapp began her dental career innon-traditional manner
After high school Candace did not have the opportunity to attend college and started working at the University of Colorado Heath Science Center as a clerk-typist. Nineteen years, much work, and several promotions later, she was an Administrative Officer in the Department of Neurology
In this position Dr. Candace was in charge of grants and budgets. Dr. Candace was one of several investigators in the study entitled “Long-Term Results Following Prednisone and Thymectomy in MyastheniaGravis,” which was published in the journal Neurology. Her other publications involving neurology practice patterns also appeared in Neurology. Going to school at night and on weekends, Dr. DeLapp undertook a pre-dental curriculum and is one of the few to be admitted to a professional school without an undergraduate degree.
While at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine she was President of her Dental School class for four years and participated in many committees at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry.
After dental school, Dr. DeLapp was twice elected President of the University of Colorado Dental School Alumni Association her last term ending in 2007. She has been named to the Deans Advisory Council at the School of Dentistry, is on the Board of Trustees for the Dental School, and attends several established several dental study clubs in the metro area. Dr. DeLapp is a member of the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society Peer Review Committee.
In 2008 Dr. H.. Candace DeLapp and Dr. James DeLapp were recognized by the University of Colorado School of Dentistry as “Alumni of the Year” . In 2008 was inducted into the “Pierre Fauchard Academy”. The academy is an International Honary Dental Organization recognizing outstanding dentists and celebrating their achievements.
Dr. DeLapp is currently a Clinical Instructor at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine She is teaching Operative Dentistry I and II, Removable Prosthetics (full and partial dentures) and Occlusion at the School of Dentistry. This is the course where dental students learn how to drill and fill teeth; dentists call this “restoring teeth.” The removable prosthetics course involves the fabrication of full and partial dentures. The occlusion course involves how your teeth fit together and clenching and grinding of your teeth e.g.

Dr. Candace DeLapp actively gives back to the community as a volunteer. In addition to her volunteer work at the dental school, she spends hundreds of volunteer hours helping our community through various charitable organizations. Her other outside interests include fly-fishing, gardening, and collecting antiques.
